My Jeep club has a road rally Saturday morning around Madison, Indiana. I like one of the maps I’ve assembled , thought I’d share it here.
Although now that I think about it, the line should be “Water and gravel and hills” to better match the source material. Hurrah for quality editing tools.

You’re not that far from me. A couple hours. Do you allow non-jeeps to wheel along?

Not ordinarily, and this one is one of ou r first paid events.
2 hours in which direction? I’m about 2 hours from this also; perhaps we could do a mini oppomeet. There are definitely some interesting pockets of rural roads in southern Indiana and Kentucky.

Unfortunately Ohio doesn’t seem to have much to offer for real off-roading, although there is a Jeep Fest that takes place each year south of Columbus, so there must be something interesting to explore there.
I’ve never been, but there’s a park called Haspin Acres which wouldn’t be too far from you. It has a bit of a reputation as a place you go to get drunk and get airlifted out, but I hear that if you go during the week the crowd isn’t too bad.
I’m going to ruminate. There are some interesting roads in that area, maybe there’s an opportunity to meet up with ItalianJobR53 and some others to do some on-road exploring and hit Haspin after, although I’m pretty tired of breaking things on my Jeep so I’m far from an expert on all things wheeling.

I mean, I’m happy to travel to IN or KY for some fun. I’m just not so keen on going it alone...

Rarely a good idea. What’s your vehicle of off-roading choice?

Oh! I figured you saw that I picked up a Montero recently.

Nice. No, I’m fairly noisy here but I don’t follow day-to-day posting very closely.

I’m in Columbus. Good on-road driving road is IN135 from Gnaw Bone to Salem. It’s fairly narrow and twisty.
I’m not much into the off-roading thing but I could tag along.

I love 135. My first visit to Story was after dark; cresting those hills without any idea what was on the other side was more than a little terrifying. And of course, the HNF is great to visit, even if they’ve closed down all of the forest roads .

Ping me if you wanna meet up somewhere, although I may not be in Indiana this weekend. A f riend wants to go look at that BMW 528 featured on FP.

Muscatatuck is having a photo competition I’m planning on entering, so if my prints arrive in time Friday I may be hurrying down there around 4 (and thus available to swing through Columbus on my way back) , but that’s unlikely to happen.
More likely I’ll make a trip down there next week, so maybe end of the day sometime.

Definitely seems like something in southern Indiana could attract a few people.
